Description
America was built by Riflemen. The rifle embodies the skill and fortitude of those who came before us, and we work to build those same skills today. Rifle Skills is an eight-hour course designed around the common use of rifles in civilian self-defense. Whether it be active shooter response, home defense, riot defense or civil unrest, we need to build good fundamental skills and techniques to prevail in dangerous encounters. This course will take a basic rifle shooter and build them into a well-rounded and capable rifle user.
Topics Covered:
– Firearm Safety
– Loading/Unloading/Reloading of the AR-15 system
– Shooting mechanics and control
– Positional work around barricades and vehicles
– Command and control of loved ones while armed
– Rapid rifle deployment from a storage location
– Decision-making under stress
This is not a basic course. You must have foundational knowledge of the AR-15 system and basic marksmanship before attending. This class is mildly athletic, including kneeling, sprinting and maintaining balance in awkward positions. Please contact us with any concerns or special needs.

Well put together course with an emphasis on real world application. The pace is perfect with no filler… just instruction, shoot, and reflect. Well worth the investment

I recently had the privilege of attending the Rifle Skills course led by Chris Cook, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Chris’s ability to simplify complex ideas in marksmanship and civilian rifle concepts is truly remarkable. Throughout the course, he effortlessly broke down intricate concepts into digestible chunks, making it easy for even the most novice participants to grasp. What I loved most about the class was that it wasn’t based in learning fundamentals; it was based in learning things that we will most likely encounter in the real world as a civilian with a rifle. Skills that we as citizens actually want to learn to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities.
One of the most impressive aspects of Chris’s teaching style is his ability to adapt and teach in the moment. He doesn’t stick to a rigid syllabus but rather pivots the class structure based on the performance and needs of the participants. This flexibility ensured that everyone got the most out of the course and left with homework tailored to their needs and areas to improve on.
It’s not often that you find an instructor that demos each and every drill to their students before expecting them to do the same. Throughout the course, Chris led by example, demonstrating the standards he expected from us with finesse and proficiency.
Overall, I cannot recommend Chris Cook’s Rifle Skills class highly enough. Chris’s course offers invaluable insights and hands-on training that will undoubtedly elevate your proficiency with a rifle. Not only that, the concepts and drills that are taught are backed by data and real-life events in the civilian world. Chris’s class is fun, inviting, and personable. You will not be embarrassed if you mess up, you will not be belittled if you under-perform; Chris is a fantastic instructor and provides an exceptional balance of fun and serious instruction.
